Every time you are angry, notice that there is a tinge of discomfort about your anger that comes along with it.
Your anger is there. That is the physiological reality that you are experiencing right now. If you look closely, you will see that there is also a reaction to the anger, which is your discomfort, which is your irritation about your anger.
The next time you’re angry, notice these two different emotions. You will notice that the anger is there and then the discomfort that you’re feeling about the anger increases your anger.
A reaction will never be able to help you out. A reaction always acts as a fuel in the fire.
The anger is the original fire. It has been lit. You can’t do anything about it.
All you need to do is just experience it, just accept it. The moment you accept it, the moment you stand back and look at the experience of anger, the discomfort cannot be created because you’ve accepted it.
The very unacceptance, the rejection of anger is what causes your discomfort.
So if you accept your anger, you have stopped putting fuel into the fire and the fire will slowly dissolve.
