What does it mean to be happy? Not the happiness that is the opposite of unhappiness. The happiness that is uncaused, that has no opposite, that has no beginning and no end. You can also call it peace or bliss. It doesn’t come and go.
Generally when we talk about happiness, we refer to the absence of unhappiness. Its the other side of the same coin. Its pleasure, excitement. You cannot sustain it for long because it is kind of like a tension, a movement. It takes energy. It can keep you up just like how unhappiness can keep you up. Unhappiness is the presence of so called negative energy and “happiness” is the presence of positive energy. But both are the presence of something. They have a beginning and an end. And they move in cycles, one after another. Something happens and you get happy and after some time you are bored of it. So the happiness dissolves and unhappiness comes in. You again start looking for ways to make yourself happy again. And on and on it goes.
The happiness I am talking about is completely different. It is what exists beyond the positive and the negative.
